grace lee project

so i watched the grace lee project the other day. it was part of the asian american film festival in san jose and i really liked it. it was pretty much about this grace lee from the midwest who was wondering who all these other grace lee’s in the world were and what they were doing b/c she kept on hearing about them wherever she went. it was more of a finding-one’s-self documentary that was done humourous at parts and serious at others but all in all, defining grace lee’s by who they were and what they were doing and seeing what female asian americans were doing with their lives. at least that’s what i took from it…

one question that she asked other grace lee’s was what they wanted other people to think of them as. and that got me thinking about myself and how i would want other people think of me. that might be a good way to set my own personal goals for myself. What do I want people to think when they think of Mike Chien?

i want people to think of mike chien as a fun, adventurous guy who loves the outdoors, photography, and friendships. someone who can have as much fun chatting over coffee on a rainy day, dancing .. err.. attempting to dance all night at a club, walking along warm beaches, or taking the challenge of mountain peaks or high altitude passes. someone you won’t forget.
