one of those days
at work, i go through dozens of emails a day about this and that - just going about my business as usual, reading and replying when necessary. but today was the first time that one actually stopped me cold. i could actually feel my heart getting heavier as i read the lines in disbelief: “It is with deep sadness, I would like to convey that K.B. passed away yesterday, November 13, 2005″. I had known that she had been sick for awhile but the name tag on her desk was still there with drawings that her granddaughter had made and I guess, in my naivity, thought she would get better and be back at work being her jolly self. i guess i was wrong…
