my love of the game
holy crap… ucla vs. gonzaga in the sweet 16 last night was an insane win. the game was really frustrating the first half and almost all of the second but i held on, like a true fan, hoping that the bruins would pull through… and they did! with 9.9 seconds left in the game, they took their first lead and finally the win. i… totally…. lost… it. we WON! bozeman stealing the ball in the backcourt, farmar with the assist to mbah a moute who shot from under the hoop and moute again with a steal that clinched the win. i can’t wait to go home and replay that… over.. and over again. hahaha. i love tivo.
so with ucla’s stunning victory, my amazing tilt correcting skills at work (+/- 1um in one try) and of course with mina yoshioka in town, we HAD to go out. there was no question! so alex and i met up with mina and vicki and headed down to union square’s azul where we downed a few drinks.. and a couple shots (one of which was a massive double jagermeister bomb). And with a combination of my buzz from the ucla game and all those tasty beverages… it was time to hit up broadway where zebra was actually somewhat happening on a random march madness thursday. vicki and mina took turns stealing my ucla hat and both looked fantastic donning the blue and gold. we rolled home at 2 or so after checking out mina’s cool hotel room and a quick jog back through chinatown. but here i am…. still buzzing from the game but with a very slight hangover. awesome. go bruins!
