old friends
i had dinner last night with two old friends of mine. the 3 of us grew up together along with all the other kids in our neighborhood and it was so great seeing them since they’re both in new york and we’re rarely in the same place at the same time. i picked up john from his hotel downtown after work and we went to pick up our “special guest” which he surprised me with… JENNIFER!!! i had no idea she was even in town.
we all caught up with each other over dinner at medjool and then made a coldstone run downtown. i got to hear stories about jenn’s trip to south africa and john’s world tour. hanging out with those two really brought back childhood memories and the crazy fun times we had… all the bowling, trips to donut wheel, rollerblading, street hockey in the court, tennis, halloween, buckin’ broncho, ghostrider, playing with fire… a lot, video games, rain sports and just being plain idiots. i really can’t think of a better place to have grown up with kids all around the same age. we were definitely spoiled in that regard. and as much as i like where i am right now, to be a kid again wouldn’t be so bad =).
oh wait! i’m going to disneyland tomorrow. hahaha. a kid for a day then. that’ll have to do.
