sailing rrrraging otter
to continue my story of crazy adventures from the past 3 weeks, i’ll have to flashback to friday, august 18th. diana was back from china, steve was back from philly and christine back from new york - there was no way i wasn’t going to take a day off and take them all out sailing. plus i promised joanna like a year ago that i’d take her out so Raging Otter it was and friday was as nice of a day as you could hope for. we did a quick run under the golden gate and sailed up the waterfront by fort mason. and that’s when i spotted a swimmer in the water a little ways from the aquatic park entrance which was fortunate because with a full wetsuit on, they’re not easy to spot. when we passed, he asked for help because the current kept dragging him away from the entrance and he was getting tired so after a few passes, we picked up the poor shivering guy and dropped him off at the entrance to the park where his “friend” was waiting in a dinghy (and obviously doing a poor job of being support for his swimmer friend). we then cut across the bay over to paradise cove, anchored, ate lunch, took a nap and drank wine. dave and i went in for a dip which was pretty freakin’ cold but not unbearable. (check out the videos.. haha) and after a few hours there we took our time going up raccoon straight before heading back to sausalito. we grabbed a late dinner in SF and then hit up broadway… i’m going to have to place a permanent veto on impala for pure shadiness. and dolce, expect to pay $20 cover (if you’re a dude). dragon bar, i think, has always been a sure thing.
i’d have to sum up the day american express style: taking a day off: 8PTO hours, chartering 32′ sailboat: $275… grande bottle of white zinfandel: $20 … dinner at colibri: $40 … dockline that went overboard: $10… bar tab: $50 .. spending time with old friends, saving a dude’s life, sharing obscure ‘how i met your mother’ references and watching steve make a complete fool of himself and not remembering any of it: PRICELESSSSSSS =)

That’s strange, I happen to recall myself being a gentleman and a scholar and employing a sharp wit to round out my charming demeanor
