LA + oktoberfest 2006 #1
so 2 weekends ago, i hopped on a plane after work friday and headed down to LA to play. friday night, i met up with ryan and we went out for erin’s birthday at some very odd jazz/dance club in chinatown. saturday, i hung out with bob and jacq at their lion dance event in cerritos after which we gorged ourselves on shaved ice at guppy’s. mmm.. delicious. cerritos is… very frighteningly similar to cupertino.. (yeah i don’t know if that’s an actual word) but it’s totally a suburban chinatown much cupertino. haha.. at least that’s what i saw. after that, I hitched a ride down to visit Jane in Irvine where we roamed the many grocery stores of irvine and taught her swiss roommate how to use chopsticks. i’m still amazed at how much nicer irvine housing is compared to everywhere else… so jealous.

saturday night was henny’s 24th h-themed party. i went as Hindu.. in one of Girish’s outfits. Yo and Ben, i think had the funniest costume as “team henny.” gotta love Yo’s socks. happy birthday henny!

sunday i had brunch with my sister and reed in santa monica which was really fun and made me wish that i could see her more often. we tried on halloween costumes at ahhs where she made me try on a full body superman costume. i haven’t been that for halloween since i was like 6. and then it was down to huntington beach for oktoberfest at the old world village. haha.. and we totally picked the right day to go. ‘why’ you ask? because there were weiner dog races! hahahaha. i totally got a kick out of when the dogs would get all confused, stop and start chatting with each other.
