kaboom 2007!
My third Kaboom in San Francisco and it did not dissappoint… at least the fireworks didn’t. So KFOG puts on this small concert over by pier 30 and did a horrible job of getting people into the event. The line (for people WITH tickets) stretched from Pier 30 all the way to the Ferry Building. It must have been a good half-mile long. And then, they were letting people enter the stage area from the front side of the stage which was pretty much a crushing current of people trying to get out of there. Tips for future organizers: only let people OUT from the front of the stage, don’t let people set up lawn chairs in front of the stage, allow a better flow of people into the area. But despite all of that, the fireworks were great =) I also had rented some lights from Calumet that day for some photo fun.
